Cancelled Scene

He’s seen it three times and when I returned home to LA there was an email waiting, informing me that he had purchased two tickets for “Wicked” when it returned to the Pantages Theater here in town. So, we have two really great seats in the orchestra tomorrow evening! I can’t wait. I’ve read the books (incredible, btw. Highly recommended.) and am excited to see the play, which has won several Tony awards from its time on Broadway.

Play Time

We recently got a playdate with an old, dear friend. We’ll call her Sweetie. She’s in the business and we’ve known her for over ten years. Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Ours was nice and quiet, as we took Mika Tan out to dinner at Campinile. It’s our third year in a row eating out and we may just have to keep the tradition going from here on out, as it’s very nice. The space is lovely: it was built by Charlie Chaplain as his office, and has the elegance of Old Los Angeles. Recent Scenes

Homeland is a show we didn’t expect to like, but got into right away. The good thing about On Demand is that you can watch shows back to back. We had to catch up four week’s worth of shows by the time we started watching it, but it was easy to do, as the show is compelling. Even though it was originally an Israeli series, it’s translated well to an American venue. Plus, Claire Danes is awesome as an unstable CIA agent scarred by the 9/11 attacks.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I hope all of you are able to spend today with people whom you love, and who love you back. I hope your team wins and I hope the food is delicious.

My Darling and I are having dinner out with Mika Tan, one of our dearest friends in the business. We’ve known her about ten years or so and she’s just a fantastic person. Comedy

I’ve been dabbling in stand up comedy recently. My friend, Sparky, got a job at The Icehouse, in Pasadena, and she introduced me to the manager there. This Saturday I’ll be doing a set at The Icehouse, the oldest comedy club in California, I believe. I’m very excited and am trying to figure out which bits to use.

All those years on the road as a feature, when I would take the mic after my set and field questions from the audience, are paying off. When the MCs ask me, “How long have you been doing comedy?” I can honestly say, “About twenty years.”

So far, I’ve met DJ Cooch and Beny Mena, two up and coming MCs. I was so happy not to disappoint them, when they were so nice as to let me on stage in the first place!

Playtime

This Sunday I’m off to the Bay Area to see family, so my Darling gets to have a private date with M, a new friend. We’ve had a threesome already and I like her a lot. Halloween

Ernest and I went to two Halloween parties on Saturday night. We should have not bothered with the second one, held at Bordner’s, as it was crowed and loud, with no room to hang out.

The AEE is a little later in the month this year, and the AVN awards are on the 21st of January. The show is being held in the Hard Rock hotel, which seems weird to me, as I’m so used to it being in the Venetian. Sigh. All good things must come to an end, and I guess that includes staying at the Venetian. Drat.

Thanksgiving

We’re going out on Thanksgiving this year, a new tradition. Until Thanksgiving ’08 we always could round up four friends or orphans and host them at our place. Starting in ’09, when we couldn’t round up even one orphan, we went out and had a great dinner at Campanile. We thought it might be depressing but the place is elegant and was full of happy families. So in ’10 we went with our lawyer and his fiance and also had a great time. This year they’ll be back east for her 10th high school reunion, but we hit the jackpot with our dinner guest, our favorite “orphan.” She’s a friend from the industry but we’ll keep her identity secret till after the holiday. Movie Shoot

The shoot for “The Truth About O” went very well. All five of the sex scenes are smoking hot. BOISE

I had a great time at the Adam and Eve store in Boise, IA. First, it’s a lovely city with about 20,000 people in it. Big enough to be a city but small enough that it’s very livable. It’s at the bottom of a valley, so biking is a big deal, and in winter it’s less than an hour’s drive to skiing. Nice! The downtown area (“BoDo,” for “Boise Downtown”) has been spruced up for a kickin’ night life and there are nightclubs and restaurants everywhere. There’s also the largest Basque population outside of Spain, right there in Boise. They originally came to do here what they’ve traditionally done in the highlands of Spain: herd sheep. There’s an entire block of Basque restaurants and a Basque cultural center/gift shop, though that was closed when I walked by it.

The store is very large, with wide aisles and a great selection. I liked that the windows are not blocked out or shaded, but that you can see into the store. Of course, the toys, etc., are in the back and can’t be seen from the street. All you see in the windows are the costumes for sale.

I can’t wait for the movie to be released, as I think it’s very good. The story is tightly told, the cast is attractive and all the sex scenes are crackling.

Boise

I’m in Boise, Idaho, for the day, doing a personal appearance at the Adam and Eve store here. Pretty town and a really great staff. The Movie Shoot

The shoot, while long (three 14-hour days in a row), was successful. All five scenes are amazing, not a dud among them. In some ways, it’s the best of the three movies. The sex is hot and kinky and there are lots of real orgasms for the women. Prepping for “The Truth About O”

My Darling and I are back in the saddle, prepping to shoot the third installment of his take on the iconic character, O, from “The Story of O.” The original book caused a sensation when it first appeared in the late 1950s in France and has become a cult classic in this country, as well. There have been many soft-core adaptations of the book, all of them bad, and the book itself has a large cadre of devoted fans.

My Darling has always known that the author, herself not in any way kinky, didn’t have a bead on the “why” of kinky sex.  She described well how it looked but had no clue as to what the emotional reality of it might be. He set out to change that with the first installment and made some fans very happy (those who had hated the book because the motivations weren’t right) and made others very angry (the purists) who think the book is The Word from On High, and who’ve tried to model their romantic lives after it. My Darling wanted to infuse the movies with what he knows to be the truth about kinky sex and kinky relationships.

The first installment, “O: The Power of Submission,” starred then-Adam&Eve contract player, Carmen Luvana, as the title role. She was very good in it.

The second installment a couple of years later, “The Surrender of O,” starred then-Adam&Eve contract player, Bree Olsen, who was also fantastic.

This installment, “The Truth About O,” stars Bobbi Starr as O.

Just as James Bond has been played by many different actors, so, too, can O be played by different women. O is a multi-faceted character and the different women who’ve played her have each highlighted different aspects of her nature. Carmen was cool and disciplined; Bree was wild and emotional, and Bobbi, well, we don’t know yet, as she’s not played her. More on that after the shoot.

Going All Over Town

We’ve gone all over town picking up props and costumes for the show. We do have a Production Manager (PM), of course, but there are some things that only my Darling can do. Mainly, picking out costumes. We bought an amazing set of lingerie at Agent Provocateur (a killer English company) for Bobbi to wear when she seduces Danny Wylde. She should look like a tasty bon-bon in it, as it’s designed to show off all of her assets to maximum effect.

Claire Adams and Justine Joli will be magnificent in their live, on-stage g/g performance during the club scene. They’ve worked together before and each knows their part to perfection. Justine is one of the best submissive models out there and Claire is genius with Domination and rope. Should be a great scene, and we’ll have extras to watch.

All of the sex will combine bondage and penetration in the way that only my Darling can stage. Ms. Adams will be the rigger for all scenes with rope, whether or not she’s actually in the scene, so you know it will be both sexy and beautiful.

I return as Marie, the one Who Knows All, in a dialogue-only role.

James Deen takes over from Evan Stone as Steven, O’s Master and Lover, and Michael Vegas takes over the role of Ray, Steven’s brother, from Tommy Gunn.

Other performers include Nat Turner, Asa Akira, Krissy Lynn and Jessie Andrews.

We shoot Tuesday-Thursday of next week.
